Boyfriend loses 15K of joint savings to a scam trading group and invests breadwinner girlfriend's remaining 10k into a different scam, woman considers leaving him: ‘
Ladies, there's nothing wrong with being the breadwinner in your romantic relationship. Times are changing, and it's significantly important to have our own financial cushions and to not rely on our partners for money. It's nice to be able to treat our partners with gifta, fancy dinners, and help them out when they're in a rough spot. What's not okay is letting our partners do what they please with out finances, especially if we ask them to be responsible with our cash. At the end of the day, cash is king, and though money comes and goes, the principle of the situation is more important than a monetary loss.
The woman in this story is considering leaving her boyfriend after he invested their joint savings (which she contributed to the most) into a scam trading group. She signed off on it at first, but then they lost 15K of the 25K they had put into it. With 10K remaining, she begged him to keep it safe and be vigilant about other scams. Instead of doing what she asked, he goes behind her back and loses the remaining funds. This is how she's repaid for years of fronting most of the cost for vacations, dinners, and housing.
